Spyware Threat Levels
It is important to note that the threat level assessment is just a general guideline. If you do not recognize the software installed, and you feel that it may be causing you harm or violating your privacy, you may wish to remove it from your computer. You are ultimately responsible for assessing the danger that a software application poses.

Low
The low threat level is applied to software that has a low risk of hurting your computer or the data stored on it. Low threat software is not likely to be used to commit crimes using your computer as a platform, or send your files back to a hacker.

Medium
The medium threat level is applied to software that has some risk of serious violations of your privacy. The software has a low likelihood of hurting your computer or the data stored on it, and is probably not used to commit crimes using your computer as a platform, or send your files back to a hacker.

High
The high threat level is applied to software that is most likely used to violate your privacy, or could be used to hurt your computer or the data stored on it, and even potentially commit crimes using your computer as a platform. High threat level software generally does not serve any legitimate purpose, and is almost always a good candidate for removal.
