Spyware Information: DJ Scan
This is a port scanner. Port scanners are used by hackers to find security holes in other computers. Data flows into computers from the network through special ports, which are administered by software. If the software that is listening to a port has a security flaw, a hacker can force data through the port to cause the software on the computer to crash or, in worse cases, install a virus or other malicious software.
Breaking into a computer through a port is a very serious problem, as it can happen without the computer operator's knowledge or permission. Port scanners are the first step in this process.
If you're not a hacker and don't have any connection with port scanning, you should not be surprised if DJ Scan is on your computer. Hackers will often use other people's computers to scan for ports because then the scan can't be traced back to the hacker.
