Spyware Information: Black Box
This is a "cracking" application. Cracking applications try to defeat the anti-piracy systems in software, CDs, DVDs, and other copy-protected products. Some will edit software to remove the code that prevents illegal copying, or that restricts parts of the software before purchase. Others will pull data from a protected medium, like a DVD, and store the data in a format that is not protected.
Although you may not have anything to do with Black Box and may not be using it to violate copy restrictions, someone else might be storing it on your computer. It could be another user of your computer, or it could even be someone you've never met -- someone who has broken into your computer and stored his tools there to prevent tracing. It is common for hackers to preserve and use computers they have broken into, rather than simply destroying them.
