Spyware Information: Boom
This application is a denial-of-service (DOS) system. It will send malformed communication to web sites in order to bring them down. Denial-of-service attacks have been used successfully against some of the largest web sites (including Yahoo and CNN) as a show of force, and have even been used to shut down software companies that fight spyware!
If you're not a hacker and don't have any connection to DOS attacks, you should not be surprised if Boom is on your computer. DOS attacks only work when a large number of computers take part in them simultaneously, so hackers must break into a large number of computers to install DOS software. Many DOS tools are distributed by viruses. This lets their authors launch massive coordinated attacks from many unsuspecting computers.
