This application is adware. Adware is not normally a threat, but is usually considered a nuisance. It might have been installed by another application. It can pop up advertisements even if you have a popup blocker on your computer. It can monitor your computer usage to generate ads that you are more likely to respond to. - Privacy issues: ClipGenie collects a lot of information about your computer use, and also collects personally identifying information like name and credit card number. Most seriously, ClipGenie states that it may combine these two records, allowing its authors to know both who you are and what you surf.

Excerpt from the Privacy Policy: "Personally identifying information collected by ClipGenie may include, but is not limited to, your: (a) first and last name; (b) home or other physical address including street name and number, and name of city or town; (c) email address, and; (d) telephone number (e) credit card or other financial information. "
