Purchasing and unlocking
Why does it ask me to unlock the product when I connect to the Internet?
All Tenebril products have a security feature built in that helps prevent piracy (illegal copying). The products allow themselves to be unlocked using a serial number (which is easily shared and thus insecure) if the computer on which they're installed is not connected to the Internet. If, however, the computer is connected to the Internet, the product must be unlocked using the Internet method (which is secure). Because the Internet method is secure, the products will force you to use that method if you have an Internet connection.
For this reason, if you originally unlocked the product using your serial number (when you were not connected to the Internet), the product will ask you to re-unlock it when you connect to the Internet. It will only ask you once; after you have successfully unlocked the product using the Internet method you will never be asked to unlock it again.
To unlock the product using the Internet method, enter your order number (begins with 'ST' or 'SC' and is in your receipt) and the e-mail address with which you bought the product. It will then unlock itself, and you'll be ready to go.
