GhostSurf 2005 Platinum wins PC Magazine Editors' Choice Award

October 26, 2004 - Tenebril Inc., makers of best-selling software that enhances computer efficiency and enjoyment, announced today that GhostSurf 2005 Platinum, the premium edition of Tenebril's popular privacy protection product, has been honored with the coveted PC Magazine Editors' Choice Award. GhostSurf 2005 Platinum earned 4-1/2 out of 5 stars in PC Magazine testing, with editors calling the product "the most impressive anonymity tool we've tested yet."

GhostSurf 2005 Platinum debuted in September 2004 and found immediate success with individuals who value the privacy of their Internet activity, at home and at work. In addition to its IP (Internet Protocol) address masking, which renders the user's online activity totally anonymous, the application encrypts the person's Internet connection and erases Web history, temporary files, cookies and any other traces of web use to Department of Defense standards.

Also included in GhostSurf 2005 Platinum is a battery of Tenebril Internet security products including SpyCatcher, the strongest anti-spyware defense yet; AdArmor, the total solution for annoying pop-up ads; and Personal Data Vault, an encrypted and password-protected "safe deposit box" for all forms of private digital information.

"GhostSurf 2005 Platinum is the highest rated anonymity application in PC Magazine security ratings, and the only product of its kind to win the magazine's prestigious Editors' Choice Award," said Joshua Blanchfield, chief executive officer of Tenebril, Inc. "We're pleased and honored by this award as it validates our belief that GhostSurf 2005 Platinum is the ultimate security product on the market today for total privacy protection when surfing the Internet."

In comparing GhostSurf 2005 Platinum to another anonymity application available to consumers, PC Magazine stated that "...the competing GhostSurf product does more, without an annual fee." The editors were impressed with both the advanced technology and the cadre of privacy products that come with GhostSurf 2005 Platinum. "Using private rather than public proxy servers and including a free antispyware tool, GhostSurf is the most impressive anonymity tool we've tested yet," stated the editors in the review summary.

The article, dated October 26, 2004, compares GhostSurf 2005 Platinum to A nonymizer 2004, Bypass Proxy Client 0.78, and Steganos Internet Anonym Pro 7. PC Magazine editors called GhostSurf 2005 Platinum "a bargain", and concluded that its IP address masking technology, which routes the user's Internet requests through a private server, "works beautifully."

Also noted was the fact that GhostSurf 2005 Platinum masks IM messages, newsgroup and IRC traffic. "Conveniently, the app even lets you compile a list of Web sites where you don't want your identity masked," the review says. "In some cases, you'll want a site to know who you are so they can customize content, store certain information on your behalf, or provide special services."
